There are few things which really make my head ache. And most of the time, it's because of the irony around our country's system in different aspects. Consider this one.

The pictures above show some of the latest happenings regarding Former President Joseph Estrada's grant of presidential pardon. The first one was he was convicted "guilty" and the second one was showing people welcoming Joseph Estrada when he was already given the "freedom" as President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo already signed the executive clemency.

Funny, isn't it?
Indeed you can see some injustices in the situation. If I remembered perfectly, it was just like more than a month ago when Erap was convicted "guilty" due to plunder. And after that I haven't seen him inside a cell. Oh, I just recalled him saying he is ready to be inside any cell even Muntinlupa. Or I got that wrong? Sorry for being biased here, but I think the conviction that was done in Sandiganbayan last September was just a pose. To show the Filipino people that the government was doing something about the issue that has existed for six years and six months. I just think so. Pardon Mr. Estrada, but I don't think you have served your punishment inside a prison for you to get away like that so fast. To pocket a big amount of money is such a condemnable crime. What I'm just pointing out is, why make a thing that you cannot fulfill? He was sentenced to reclusion perpetua and yet he was not even put in prison. Tis' a big irony. I swear.

Second one, the thing about SK and Barangay elections. Funny, Commission on Elections ought to apply stringent measures for those who attempt to run even they do not qualify for the positions they will run for. Read: After three successive terms, a person will not be permitted to run as a barangay chairman. If I got it right a barangay chairman's term lasts for 3 years. Our barangay chairwoman will be running for the same position again and yet she had already "served" for more than 9 years. I heard this statement from one of the officials managing those electoral candidates: "Nasa sarili nating kusa ang hindi pagpaparehistro bilang kandidato." (<-- That's the gist, not the exact statement). When I heard this, I gasped. I know several people who would go to great lengths to claim that coveted position.

To all the voters, the government is yet to apply its measures to ensure a clean election (although we know it wouldn't be), anyways, apart from supporting these, we, on our own, must be vigilant enough, for it is upon our own vigilance and government's work that we can be able to achieve an unstained election of barangay and sk officials.

The next one, doesn't really make my head ache. But rather, make my heart ache seeing that there are many innocent individuals who suffered from this catastrophe.

What you see below is a snapshot of Glorietta 2 blast. I've known some friends and relatives who happened to be lucky enough to escape that tragic fate. Anyhow, it seems unlikely that justice will be given anytime soon provided that investigators of the scene haven't got a clear lead of the root of this tragedy. At first, it was reported that this could be bombing done by the terrorists and the next one gas leak. If things weren't enough, there's this caller named "Sheik Omar" who claims the responsibility of bombing only to retract it later saying this was just a method to divert the attention from the scandals that the government is facing.

All we wanted is the truth. There is no time for bickering, arguments that are no way related to the incident. The tormented hearts of those who are left behind by these victims are excruciatingly waiting.

Although it sounds phony, only what we could do are help each other and pray.

That's just my opinion anyway.
