If there is anything about Philippines that I really really really DO LOVE SO MUCH, it is the fact that it is rich in natural tourist destinations that is superbly worth one's time - not to mention, that (for these) you do not have to sign-up for additional activities (i.e. Ziplining, kayaking, parasailing etc.) to take delight in the lusciousness of these must-see spots! (Kumbaga, they're like bonuses, but then your trip will be just as satisfying even without them :))
From all these tourist destinations, there is a type that I love the most - BEACHES (and waterfalls, rivers etc.)! I am really such a sucker for swimming outings (in those aforementioned) to the point that it must always be on my summer checklist (although there were these rare summers when I was younger when I had not gone to one). I even remembered when we went to Puerto Galera and stayed for 4 days and 3 nights, my skin color had gone 100% darker than what it was originally because I practically stayed on the water under the sun for almost the whole day.
When my relatives started calling me "Baluga*", I became fully aware of my weakness when it comes to dipping myself in the water. We had a swimming outing before somewhere in Northern Luzon, but this time in the river. And although my swimming skills are still dubious to be useful in dire circumstances, I never left the water (which was too deep no one from our lot could touch the floor; maybe around 7 feet or more) until I was called to eat - resting on the round inflatable, paddling my hands every now and then so I wouldn't be carried away by the current. There is virtually nothing that can stop me from immersing in the water, except, of course, bad weather. And while many Filipinos are scared shitless that their skin would go dark, here I am content with a sunblock, and ready for the sun's rays to warm me up.
And this is not even because I want to get a tan. Personal aesthetics would be the last of my reasons because a) I'm not that vain about my body and b) I take more pleasure in appreciating my environment. There is just so much that I love in water getaways that sometimes, I wish, I could drift away from the urban area to reside there.
Well, to acquaint you with my reasons, here are some:
Boracay is the place. I won't repeat what others have said about its water and sand. I liked that little fishes approached me and bit me. Beautiful period. As much as I want to enjoy its nightlife, I couldn't - I am always this homebody person. Therefore during my stay there, I swam, swam and swam, traveled almost half the island's seaside by foot, did some water activities, ate, ate and ate, and slept. Perfect relaxation just before the next semester starts.
I'm not really a fan of uploading but I really want to share how to save my sembreak by indulging in 4Dand3N relaxation during the last days of the break.

Well, to acquaint you with my reasons, here are some:
- The feeling of water against the skin is sensually pleasing.
- For beaches: Lying on a fine sand is about the same as lying on a comfy bed and walking on it can be as soothing as a foot spa. Plus, one can opt not to wear a footwear!
- When eating on the area, you are guaranteed that the sea goodies are fresh! YUM.
- There is no limit to where one can go (unlike the pool, and of course, if it is too deep [lucky if one knows how to swim]).
- Day or night. the water always gives a sense of tranquility and serenity that can take one's stress and anxieties even just for a while.
- Almost always away from pollution that has plagued the urban cities!
- For me, living by the sea is simpler than living in the metro, if we consider the traditional lifestyle that Filipinos have gone used to.
- One gets close with the underwater creatures of different types, sizes and colors, not the usual goldfish many buy from petshops.

The grotto
I was already told to wear something beach-y, but I insisted on the dress. Oh well, it got soaked.
